Any know any other “natural” or “frugal” tips?
We just bought our first house. It was a foreclosure property and it’s really not in bad shape, just lots of cleaning and some minor repairs. We have two kids and they have a long history of asthma, allergies. I have been trying to switch to natural cleaning solutions (like baking soda, white vinegar, etc.) instead of all the really strong chemical alternatives. I am also making my own laundry soap, following the Duggar family recipe. Does anyone know of some other natural heavy cleaning solutions that I can use? I am also trying to be very frugal and budget friendly, so any tips would be appreciated! We are trying to start a more “natural” way of living, i.e. natural food, natural cleaning products, etc., because we notice our kids have less asthma and allergy problems this way. Any tips would be appreciated!!
When you buy pre packaged food, you never know what chemicals some of the ingredients were processed with, like bleach and believe it or not worse than that. A good way is just to start cooking from scratch more. Though it is one of those things thats easier said than done (especially with two kids!). But you would be surprised how easy it is to make home made breads and cereals (which is where you find alot of harsh chemically processed flour and hydrogenated oils). Yogurt is also super simple and can be made with just some milk, a crock pot and a little culture from a previous container. Grow your own produce as much as possible as this seriously cuts down on cost and chemicals. Just look into where you live and what thrives best there to make it easier on yourself instead of trying to grow stuff that just doesnt work well in your area. Fruit trees are pretty easy and take care of themselves. Herbs and spices grow like weeds just about anywhere to use in salads, to dry or to make teas. As far as cleaning, you can make almost anything you need with borax, castille soap flakes, lemon, vinegar and baking soda. If you cant make it with that, then you dont need it in my opinion. You can also make your own toothpaste pretty easy too, though that is something that is fairly cheap to buy, but then you know what exactly goes into it. Composting too can reduce waste and create a very nice fertilizer that you can either use or sell. You can also get guides at your local university/colleges botany/horticulture dept or a flied guide at a local library about edible wild plants. These are free, loaded with nutrients and are probably already growing right under your feet.

Once you are comfortable with the process and you become familiar with the different scents, sources and how your own body chemistry reacts to the blended scents then you are on your way to making your very own special fragrance that rivals any of the commercial brands available.
The best part about this is that because they are your own perfume, you can patent the formula for the scent and own it. After that you are free to sell it at a reasonable price and market i yourself. The basic source of ingrediants in fragrances are plant extracts called essential oils. These Essential oils are extracted from plants, which is then used as the base for perfumes. It is very interesting to note that sometimes, you can stumble upon a certaibn mixture of wonderful scents by experimenting with all the different extracts from certain plants. You can get creative and really make something you can be proud of.
When making your own fragrance, you can buy ready made essential oils or do your own extraction. If you decide to purchase the oils however, make sure you get them from a reputable source so that you can be sure that you buy 100% essential oils rather than those with additives. The higher the concentration of the oils, the more aromatic it is.
You can use the interntet to find out wich combinations you should try out first. There are countless people who know alot of great smell combos and they would gladly share their secrets with you. Beware though not all fruits will be able to yield the expected scents when extracted so you’re better off sticking to the fruits from the citrus family.
Making your own perfume are great if you have certain allergic reactions from highly processed and synthetic scents that make up most of the available products in the market. So try to make your own perfume and have fun with being creative of your new blends. this could be just what is right for you.

Question : Today, we bathe with soap and wash our clothes and dishes with detergent. We take soap and detergent for granted. We strated using soap only in the 1850s. Detergent wasinvented in the 1940s.Before that, clothes were washed through beating them with rocks at a nearby stream. People had to bathe without soap because soap was very expensive.
Procedure : Collect data on soap manufacturing from the early days until its large-scale productions in industries. You may refer to books, magazines, encyclopaedias, or Internet.
I’ve already collected the infomation about history of soap and soap manufacturing/process of making soap. All I need now is just the conclusion. Thank you for all of you who willing to read this and help me. Thank you very much.
Why don’t you conclude with the fact that the ‘soaps‘ you buy in stores are really detergents and will strip your skin of natural oils. Save your skin by buying handcrafted soaps from a real soapmaker. Or better yet, try it yourself. It’s a great hobby and you can customize your scents to your liking and color to match your bath!
