Watching all the ekta kapoor serial and daily soaps that come on the telivision, where everyone wears tons of makeup and jwellery , there r extra marital affairs , schemings and back stabbings , grandpas marrying 20 something grls .. how does it reflect on the society of today.
Dont you think all this should stop and should we as viewers not make our voices heard to Ms. Ekta kapoor and others to give us something worthwile to see instead of these rubbish tear jearkers (even the tears are caused due to glycerine)

You’re absolutely right! I quit watching TV a few years ago when this soap saga started. I yearn for quality. At least that way I can control my TV time and concentrate more on more important issues! I love watching Discovery, Travel and Living for a change. And there’s also Prime time for people like us. Laughter shows too are good.
But the truth is that there’s still a section of the society that wants to see these soaps; as Riya said – ‘Demand & Supply Theory’! So why would the cable channels scrap the soaps if they still have a popular demand? Till then you and I should try finding a program that suits our tastes….

Facts About Glycerine Soaps
If your soap is translucent and amber or yellowish in color, it’s glycerin bar soap. Although not generally available outside the U.S., this product is still able to be shipped to the other 49 states as well as the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, American Samoa and Guam.
How Natural Glycerin Soap Is Made
As the name suggests, glycerin soaps contain glycerin – which is a natural byproduct that occurs when fat from an animal or vegetable source is refined. Glycerin is what gives fat its “oily” feel, and is an excellent remedy for dry, flaky skin. Natural glycerin soap can be a very effective moisturizer, unlike many commercial soaps that do not contain glycerin and can actually cause skin to dry out.
The Benefits of Handmade Glycerin Soap
While most kinds of commercial glycerin soap make excellent moisturizers and confer all the benefits of that substance, they tend to have an unpleasant medicinal smell. Homemade glycerin soap on the other hand can contain various botanical extracts that can add floral, fruity or herbal overtones, making it a real treat for the senses.
Glycerin soaps are not only good for dry skin; they can also be therapeutic for skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis and other skin rashes. Glycerin may provide some relief from the burning itch associated with these conditions. Men and women alike find that glycerin soaps also furnish excellent protection when shaving.
Yet another advantage of glycerin soaps is that they dissolve in water quite readily; these soaps do not leave an unpleasant-feeling film behind like other soaps – and you’ll be convinced once you’ve tried some handmade product.

it is for making soaps at home.
You need to boil fat. Then refrigerate it, the foamy substance on the top is glycerine, you add lye and make it into soap. Of course you have to filter it to keep unwanted chunks out.
I won’t get into detail about the whole process but you can look it up online, just make sure you use chemical resistant gloves, and keep vinegar nearby. If the lye touches your skin wash it off with the vinegar, DO NOT let water touch your skin. It will cause a chemical reaction and cause serious chemical burns on the skin. I have some scars as a reminder of my stupidity of not wearing the right type of gloves.
