Feet allegic to organic soap? Advice?
I’m allergic to most commercially available body soaps, so I use an organic olive oil soap, and it works great. The problem is, whenever I scrub my feet, they get itchy later! There’s no rash or anything gross, they just itch and it’s really annoying. So I just basically rinse my feet. They don’t stink or anything obnoxious like that, but I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and if anyone has any recommendations. I also use castile oil soap occasionally, and I get the same result! 0_o
You probably aren’t allergic, what you are is exceptionally squeeky clean. Soap cleans because of a chemical reaction that causes oils to break down and allow it and the dirt to be rinsed away. The soap doesn’t differentiate between the oils your skin made and needs and those that just landed on you from elsewhere. Pure soaps are usually pretty good at stripping the oils from the skin, leaving you with the dry itchy feeling afterwards. You can either use a nice lotion on yourself after bathing, or find a soap with an oil in it. The castile soap is mild for skin, but still tough on oils- and the olive oil soap has been changed chemically so that you don’t get quite as much benefit from the lubricative quality of the oil as you might expect. You can use what soap you prefer, you just need to rinse it off well, and use a lotion afterwards. And if you have hard water- what you may think is irritation from your soap may also be due to the hard water combining with your soap. It forms a sort of soap curd that is nearly impossible to rinse off completely. If this is the case, any soap you used would cause the same things to happen. Unrinsed soap is irritating to skin for everyone, some are just more sensitive to it than others. If you have a problem with fur on the tea kettle or glasses get filmed after washing- this may be your real problem. The only cure for the hard water is a softener- either added in the bath or as the water comes into the house.

Oatmeal Organic Skin Care
Oatmeal is an excellent skin care product which can relieve you from the irritations caused to the skin in the form of inflammation and itching and also from sun burn. They provide quick relief by locking the moisture in the skin. This reduces the itching and the person experiences great relief. Oatmeal bath even helps people with insect bites or for some unfortunate reason have come in contact with poison ivy. In fact it is also useful for babies with nappy rash or any other skin irritation. Oatmeal organic skin care products are a blessing for any kind of skin problem and to revitalise mind, body and soul.
Getting an oatmeal bath ready
It is very easy to get an oatmeal bath ready. There are some easy steps that you can follow. First of all you need to powder the oats in a grinder or a food processor. The reason is to ensure that it absorbs water easily. There is no special kind of oatmeal that is required and it could be the slow cooking variety or the quicker Quaker. Only remember not to use the flavoured variety. After you powder the oats, you need to dissolve it in water to make a paste that turns out milky white in colour.
In fact you can powder the cereal and store it in a container that is air tight for future use. In order to get your bath ready add 2 cups of this powder to the bathtub of warm or cool water. Ensure that no lumps are formed. After that you need to get soaked in the milky white solution for at least 15 minutes. After soaking in for a while, pat dry your body. Avoid rubbing the towel as this could aggravate the irritation. You may feel a bit sticky but you will be amazed at the wonders it does to your skin if you repeat this often.
Oat is nature’s ingredient to relieve your skin of irritation and discomfort. In time it is easy to see that the bath is as strengthening to the body as the morning bowl of cereal is. This ingredient from biblical times has made it down to our homes not for nothing!
